We’re thrilled to welcome you to our 2026–27 season of dance, acting, voice, and homeschool classes! Enroll by May 31 and enjoy no yearly registration fees on classes — a savings that can add up to hundreds of dollars for families with multiple students. (Please note: our large Fall Musical program is excluded from this promotion and carries its own registration fee.)
As we prepare for another exciting year, we want every student to be placed in an environment where they can grow, succeed, and feel confident. Because of this, all Intermediate and Advanced dance classes are placement-based and require instructor approval, regardless of age or years of experience. Please don’t get married to a schedule because your dancer may be moved!
For current dancers, instructors will distribute placement recommendation forms during classes the week of May 4 to help guide Fall enrollment selections. In addition, all dancers will participate in our All-Studio Evaluation on August 31 to ensure they are enrolled in the level best suited to their current technique, strength, and readiness.
If your dancer is new to our studio, please register for the level you feel is the best fit at this time. Our faculty will evaluate all new students at the start of the season and make adjustments if needed. We are always happy to help guide families through the placement process, so please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Please note: placement evaluations do not apply to Minis classes (ages 4–7).
Class Information and Placement
We are so excited to launch our revamped 2026–27 class lineup with many brand-new classes, returning favorites with updated names and structures, and the debut of our newly reimagined performance company program!
Please read all class descriptions carefully before enrolling. Many classes now include prerequisites and/or concurrent enrollment requirements to ensure proper placement, safety, and student success.
We stack classes each day via levels so that your dancer can enroll in more than one class on a given day. Check out the options!
Our Dress Code is getting much stricter for our new season so that our dancers look and feel like dancers! Please read about that on our Dance page.
Dance classes are no longer labeled strictly as “Level 1” or “Level 2.” Instead, they are Young Beginner, Beginner-Intermediate and Intermediate-Advanced.
We are now offering a brand-new Theater Tech Class in the evenings for both homeschool students and students in traditional school settings.
Two homeschool offerings on Fridays include:
History of Musical Theater and Costume Design
We are thrilled to offer acting classes for the first time ever at PACA, along with private acting lessons. If interested in acting privates, please reach out to us directly for scheduling and availability.
New wellness-focused training opportunities include a Pilates, Stretching & Conditioning Class to help students build strength and flexibility. This class is required to warm up before our new Composition Lab, where students will explore their own choreography, creativity, and collaborative creation processes. A unique piece choreographed by the dancer will be performed at the end of the dance year.
We are actively expanding our dance programming space, and this year you may see Acro classes running simultaneously with other dance classes. Don’t be alarmed if two classes appear on the schedule at the same time—this is intentional as we continue to grow.
Acro has now been divided into two specialized tracks:
Acro for Circus and Acro for Dance
Aerial Silks (Intermediate-Advanced) is now divided into a Technique Class and a Performance Class. Both are suggested for maximum growth, and the Technique class is required for those enrolled in Performance. Students will prepare choreography for multiple performances during the year.
Our Intermediate/Advanced Musical Theater Class is now 1.5 hours long and will focus heavily on both technique and the evolution/history of musical theater through different eras and styles.
PMC has officially been reimagined as PACA’s Performance Company (PPC). Students enrolled in PPC must also be enrolled in at least two concurrent classes at PACA. Depending on enrollment and dancer experience levels, PPC may be divided by Jarret Ditch into two levels, and will focus on two major performance projects only:
A Christmas Production & a Spring Production
(Show titles will be announced soon!)
Our major Fall Musical this year is a special All-Company Production combining both AJT and ART students together in one large-scale theatrical experience—similar in structure to productions like The Lion King.

Spark a lifelong love of the performing arts with our Introductory Theater Ensemble, designed especially for our youngest performers. This joyful and imaginative class introduces children to the fundamentals of theater through play, creativity, and movement in a supportive and encouraging environment. Through theater games, simple singing, and age-appropriate movement activities, students begin to explore storytelling while building confidence and comfort on stage.
Explore storytelling through music, movement, and imaginative play
Learn simple choreography and vocal warm-ups
Practice focus, listening skills, and teamwork
Learn the basics of rhythm and music foundations
Develop stage awareness and general theater terms
Do all this through a play-based, game-focused curriculum
Rather than participating in large-scale productions, students take part in a dedicated class experience designed just for their age and stage of development. The session culminates in a heartwarming end-of-season showcase. No experience required.

All-Company Fall Musical (AJT + ART), Ages 8–18 | Company Members
Rehearsals: Friday 4:00pm–7:00pm & Sunday 1:00pm–6:00pm
This fall, AJT and ART come together for one exciting, unified production—bringing performers of all ages and experience levels onto one stage. The All-Company Fall Show is a dynamic, large-scale theatrical experience that blends the energy of our recreational ensemble with the rigor of our advanced company.
Students will rehearse and perform in a fully staged production, working alongside peers at different levels while being challenged appropriately within their roles. This collaborative environment allows newer performers to grow in confidence and skill, while more experienced actors take on complex material and leadership within the ensemble.
In this production, students will:
Rehearse and perform in a full-scale theatrical production
Develop acting, vocal, and movement skills in a rehearsal setting
Work within an ensemble across multiple age groups and experience levels
Build discipline, focus, and rehearsal etiquette
Gain experience with blocking, character development, and stage presence
All actors accepted into the company through the application process are eligible to perform—no separate audition required. Rehearsals will increase in intensity as the performance approaches, and all students are expected to come prepared, take direction, and contribute positively to the rehearsal process.
This All-Company production is a unique opportunity to experience the power of collaborative storytelling—uniting our entire program in one shared artistic vision.
Performances will be in January 2027 at The Wortham Center for the Arts in Downtown Asheville.
Tuition: $470 (includes $20 toward show T-shirt)

How to Select the Right Class
To ensure your child receives the best possible training:
Please enroll in Intermediate-Advanced classes only if your dancer has significant prior experience in that specific style or received teacher approval to advance. Some dancers spend multiple years at each level.
Classes are not age-based unless otherwise noted. Proper level placement helps every dancer grow confidently, safely, and successfully.
Please also note that students may be moved at the beginning of the fall to be placed in the correct level for the dancer.
